Health Disparities in Society students empower the community

On October 20th, 2018, the Center’s Health Disparities in Society minor students and Dr. Laura Guyer worked with the Gainesville4All Initiative called the “Gainesville Empowerment Zone” to gather input from community members about community needs and ways to promote equity.

The Center’s Health Disparities in Society minor provides an interdisciplinary, intersectional framework to examine how multiple social systems (e.g., race, gender, and socioeconomic status) intersect to shape interlocking inequalities and preventable disparities n health. It is open to all UF undergraduate students.
